Two of the four semi-finalists of the U.S. Open, Ashleigh Barty and Novak Djokovic clash on Centre Court tomorrow in what should be an easy match for the two players. The Australian’s serve is strong, while Djokovic’s game is based around the ground. They have both won the last three finals at Wimbledon including this year’s final. There are few matches between the two that will go to set and it will be a good day for the fans.
You can bet that the set-up will be interesting. Both players are known to run onto the court pre-game and Djokovic especially likes to have the ball in play near the baseline due to his strong serve. It will be interesting to see how the setup plays out on the court. Will Djokovic be able to turn on his offensive power or will he continue to be limited to a server?
The players themselves both have known to struggle in the past when playing at Wimbledon. This experience with their respective partners has only made them play better on the tour. This will definitely be a great opportunity for them to play against each other and to see if they have what it takes to challenge for grand slams. Hopefully, we get to see them play some great tennis. If not, we at least get to watch them play each other and see how their skills stack up against one another.
Both players will have an extra coach with them today as Roger Martin is there to help oversee the team alongside Andy Murray. This will mean more practice time for them, plus there will be more attention focused on them during the match. Everyone knows who is best with the service when it comes to the Wimbledon finals. One thing is for sure though, that it will be Ashling and Djokovic who are going to be the favorites to win this set. They have been playing down the road with each other before, so it will not be a big adjustment for them when they are back in the UK.
However, how will things change once the pair is back in the UK? How quickly do you forget about the previous match and all of its history? Well, since we are talking about a pair of pro athletes, it is safe to say that you cannot forget about them for a long time. People always remember players like Serena Williams, Jessica Ennis, Michelle Wie and female players like Keri Lepo, Lisa Fernandez, and Victoria Czaia. So, let us just hope that Djokovic and Ashling can maintain the same kind of play that they showed in their previous matches. This is what everyone is expecting from these two players.
There is no doubt that the match will be tight between these two players. There are a lot of statistics that show how well they play against each other, and obviously, they are both known for being very good competitors. I don’t think that there will be many games that they will lose, especially not to a team like Wimbledon. They both play with the confidence that they have, and that has helped them get this far.
The game will probably be played on a grass court, due to the temperature that it is expected to be in during the duration of the match. This should not affect either player, because they are both top-class players. Djokovic might just need to work on his serve in order to win the match, which he has been working on since the beginning of the season.
The winner of this Wimbledon final will receive the trophy which the winner of the US Open is supposed to receive. It will be a major surprise to both of them, but it is already known that this is a rivalry between two of the biggest tennis players in the world. The pressure will definitely be on them as they try to win this one for themselves. It should be a good match, though.
