There are many books to read in 2021 that your future self will surely thank you for. Here’s what I expect to see: new federal holidays, a new president, a brand-new Congress, and hopefully more love in the workplace. A few of these events may even occur before our beloved Fourth of July. But for most of the year, these events will keep us very much reminded of how lucky we are to be American.
So what are some of the books to read in 2021 that your future self will thank you for? The first book I’d recommend is A Quiet Place by Joanne Chivers. Chivers’ debut novel charts her daughter’s journey from being a shy and scared straight girl who lives in an abusive home to a beautiful, confident woman who loves men and wants a loving family. It’s a wonderfully intriguing and heartfelt book that will keep you engaged and interested from start to finish.
Another great book to read in 2021 is American Honey by Lisa Olson. This collection of short stories is rich with rich culture and beauty. Each one is a lovely surprise. From the moment you open the book, you’re hooked. In fact, once you read a couple of the stories, you’ll want to hear more of them.
Then I’d recommend reading Something Good by Max Lucado. This classic novel is still considered a staple for kids and is still hugely popular today. It’s a classic coming-of-age story about a young man who falls in love with a sixteen-year-old girl. I can’t say much more for this book, other than it’s one of those amazing reads that will stick around for a long time. I highly recommend this as one of the top five books to read in 2021.
Then I’d recommend books about the effect Autism has had on humanity, by Colin Rose. This collection of short stories takes you inside the lives of those with Autism and reveals what they’re feeling, how they’re feeling, and sometimes how they try to cope with life. Highly Recommended.
You can’t go wrong with Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. This classic offers a look at the English class in India in the latter part of the 19th century. The main character is Miss Watson, and this series is my favorite among the Jane Austen novels. You’ll enjoy this series, whether you are a fan of the book or not.
Then you have The Great Bazaar by Rajan Ankushya. This is a non-fiction book about how money flows in and out of developing countries. It’s also about how to make money in the developing world, which is a must for most people, but it’s also a great read because Ankushya’s writing style lends itself so easily to creative storytelling. This is a highly recommended book if you are looking for a good, clean, simple read about making money and having fun.
If you love historical fiction, then you should read about historical facts while getting inspired by them. You can do this with Anna Pigeon’s refreshing account of a young woman who becomes a spy. This book is truly an English version of James Joyce’s Ulysses, and you can learn so much just from reading about Countess Marie de Cleves’ life. You can even learn about some of the people who influenced Joyce’s work through this one! There are many more great books to read in 2021, so start picking up your pen and preparing your list now!
